Adewale Kolawole John is a Nigerian visual artist born in 1996 in Ibadan, Nigeria.
In addition to his natural ability to draw and paint, he studied Painting and Decorating at Government Technical College, Ibadan; before going on to train as an apprentice under established artists Tope Fatunmbi and David Olatoye.
His exhibited works over the years have largely continued to pay homage to his western Nigerian heritage with a focus on popular folklore music within the region from the 1960s to 1980s precisely.
His brilliant strokes and vibrant depictions of the infamous Nigerian Ankara fabric are a stand out feature in his portraiture pieces.
For his first-ever print release, he pays homage to Yusufu Olatunji, a revered Sakara musician deeply loved by both the artist and his father.
