Life Lines, a group exhibition presented by Fresco, invites you to experience a stimulating show of limited-edition prints and paintings by contemporary African artists Omoyeni Arogunmati, Patti Endo, Abisola Gbadamosi, and Opeyemi “Upson” Arogunmati.
The exhibition brings together artists who employ line drawings and portraiture to explore the depths and messiness of human emotions and the duality of life. The artists weigh in on their subjects’ mental and emotional states, presenting stories of loved ones, alter-egos, survivors of abuse, and in
some cases, the artists themselves are the subject matter.
From Endo’s bold minimalist marker strokes, and Upson’s intricate pencil drawings to the layered watercolour patterns of Gbadamosi, the exhibition invites the viewer to dive into the complex pieces, create their own stories or meanings, and draw their parallels, making each work, in a way, the viewer’s self-portrait.
The exhibition presents four African artists: Patti Endo (Kenya, marker on canvas), Omoyeni Arogunmati (Nigeria, acrylic on canvas), Opeyemi “Upson” Arogunmati (Nigeria, digital drawings), Abisola Gbadamosi (Nigeria, watercolour on canvas).
