Fioda Gideon Nigerian, b. 1999

Born in the year SpongeBob SquarePants first aired on TV (1999), ‘Fioda definitely doesn’t live in a pineapple under the sea, but in a concrete jungle called Lagos. You can find her at the crossroads of art, fashion and (graphic) design.

Oifioda Gideon, or simply ‘Fioda, is a Nigerian visual artist and digital illustrator.

‘Fioda got her Bachelor’s degree in Visual Art from the University of Lagos, where she majored in painting. Her work employs a fusion of visual storytelling and fashion aesthetics to portray characters and moods with colour. While she enjoys using both traditional and digital mediums to express herself, she primarily simulates traditional techniques through digital mediums.

The artist has collaborated with renowned brands such as Kadiju, The Style Infidel studios, Ara Lagos, among others. In addition to her freelance projects, she recently expanded her creative pursuits by launching a collection of greeting cards, including Christmas and birthday designs.
